Segment Hunter
Catch your Strava PRs on a tailwind
Your PR was ridden on one particular day, with one particular wind. Wind is usually the biggest thing standing between you and a faster time — and the one variable you can actually plan around. Segment Hunter tells you when the wind is on your side.

How it works
Connect Strava
We pull in your starred segments and find your PR effort on each one — the exact activity, down to the minute.
We look up your PR-day wind
The actual recorded wind at that spot and hour — not a monthly average — and work out how much it helped or hurt along the segment.
You get the windows
Upcoming hours ranked by tailwind, each flagged for whether the wind alone would beat your PR-day conditions. Go out, same legs, better wind.
See it on a real segment
Example: Głuchów Dolny Climb, a 2.4 km drag. PR here: 5:41, ridden in a 5.0 km/h tailwind. Click a row to see that window on the map.
Arrows show wind direction, colored by the benefit at each point (green = tailwind, red = headwind).

What you see for every segment
Ranked wind windows
The next days' daylight hours, sorted by how much the wind works with the segment — with a plain Yes / No on beating your PR-day wind.
Wind map of the segment
Direction arrows along the route, colored by the benefit at each point — so you can see exactly where the tailwind pushes and where a bend turns it into a headwind.
Wind profile along the segment
A chart of tailwind/headwind component versus distance. On a twisty segment a "good" overall wind can still hide a brutal stretch — this shows it.
Your real PR-day baseline
Every comparison is against the weather you actually rode in, pulled from the archive for that exact date, hour and location.
It's a heuristic, not a stopwatch
Segment Hunter compares the wind's tailwind/headwind component along the segment. It doesn't model your power, drag or fitness, so it won't promise "you'll be 12 seconds faster." What it does well: point you at the days and hours when the wind is genuinely in your favour, so a PR attempt is worth the effort.
